Seattle Children's Museum

A visit from Nana isn't complete without one big adventure day. We hopped on the ferry and headed to Seattle yesterday for a little U Village shopping and then fun at the Seattle Children's Museum.

Here's our sweet girl on the ferry...
Enjoying a snack on the ferry and checking out all the activity...
At the museum, Emma was none other than Frog from the Frog and Toad books
Camden creating some music in the village in Ghana...
To no surprise, Emma's new favorite movie is The Princess and the Frog. Here she is in a house in Ghana preparing a big pot of gumbo for us to enjoy!
Setting sail across the ocean!
Camden shopped at Metropolitan Market and Emma was the checker...
Our waiter at La Cochina Cacti restaurant bringing us some delicious tacos for lunch.
Emma making another pot of gumbo-this time in the Japanese house!

Dye Those Eggs!

It's Easter Egg time! Emma picked out the box of dye a few weeks ago and said she wanted to dye eggs when Nana was here. :)
Here's a family picture before we headed to church...
Nana and Camden working on a yellow egg...
Emma preferred the "speedy flipping method" for her eggs...
Sunday evening we put the finishing touches on the eggs including these neat plastic "bracelets" that have to be applied with a hairdryer. Chris and Mom were working hard to get one to fit on a very round egg. I think Chris just ended up with burned fingers. :)

We Love Spring!!!

There is something about sitting around a picnic table with great friends eating that first grilled hamburger of the season. Followed by a campfire and s'mores-I couldn't be more ready for spring and summer!

Emma, Alison, and Claire enjoying some girl time in the hammock.
Camden working on his golf swing...
Taking a few pointers from Logan...
Alison and me heading down to the campfire...
Our fantastic five year-olds testing out their new marshmallow roasting sticks.
Quite possibly the most perfect food on Earth: S'MORES!
A little competition (out of love, of course!) for who could get the perfectly roasted marshmallow.
Camden was in heaven! Dirt, sticks, marshmallows, and chocolate!
Adorable Emma and Logan enjoying their ooey gooey goodness!
Emma and Camden off on a canoe trip!
Now this is a girl who knows how to kick back and relax with a marshmallow!

Running With Nana

Nana's here!!! We picked her up from the airport last night and the kids got to have a fun day playing at home with her today. We wanted to really treat her to some spring weather and ordered up some sun and 60s! After school we headed to the trail for a little run.
Here's Nana and Emma starting off...
Gotta stretch before we run!
Photographer Emma snapped a shot of Mom, Camden, and I
Come on Mom, we've got to catch up with Nana and Emma!

Let's Get Planting!

Emma is itching to garden. She's been scavenging around the house for seeds. She found one that she brought home from school a few months ago after reading Jack and the Beanstalk and is now convinced there will be a beanstalk sprouting soon. She ate a plum this morning and planted the seed so we can grow a plum tree. :)
I told her that it needed to get a little warmer and the crazy weeds living in the garden needed to be pulled. As for now, Camden and Emma are having fun digging away!

First Day of Spring or Summer?!?

There is a little confusion about the seasons here at the Kasparek house...Emma convinced Camden today was the first day of summer, not spring. Our living room floor will have to be the beach for now. :)

Spring Training

Emma had her first T-ball practice yesterday. Taking full advantage of the clear skies and the extra hour of daylight, Chris Kasparek's Spring Training was in full swing tonight!

I sat by the living room window and captured some shots of coach and his athletes.

Catching practice...
