Caprera and Flat Rock

On Monday we headed over to Caprera

Melissa, Sherri, and I took off down a walking path while the rest of the crew hiked and climbed along the shore.

We drove up to one of the highest points on the island and took in the incredible views

 Access to this fort was not easy, but the adventurous kids climbed their way up

After lunch, we went to Flat Rock

Camden was in heaven getting to spend lots of quality time with Zane on this trip :)

Father's Day Boating Adventure

Boating around Procida and Ischia is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. We found a place to rent the same type of boat in La Maddalena and decided it would be the perfect Father's Day adventure.

 Our boat may have encountered some rough waters the rest of the day.  We laughed until our sides hurt as we watched each other get pelted with splashing water.

Back to La Madd

During one of the first conversations I ever had with Sherri, we found out we had a special island in common: La Maddalena  

The Z family was stationed there a few years before Chris arrived.  Zane was born when they lived there. We've been talking about taking a trip there together for a while and we made it happen right after school got out.
