Orvieto Saturday

Saturday started with a stop at Madonna de Latte to pick up some wine, then we headed into Orvieto for lunch

Emma has her own store in town!
We ended the afternoon at Neri winery
We visited Neri back in 2018, so Melissa and the kids recreated a picture :)

A BLESSED WEEKEND!

Truffle Hunting in Tuscany

One of my "bucket list" items got checked off Thanksgiving weekend: Truffle Hunting in Tuscany. Our friends at De Ricci winery connected us with an agriturismo outside of Montepulciano.

After the rain storm passed, we headed out with our guide and his trusty dogs: Lily and Spugna.

Lily was amazing sniffing out those truffles

A glorious Tuscan day!

Lily's biggest find: a white truffle worth $200!
Spugna preferred to get love and attention from us humans :)
Back at the agriturismo we enjoyed a delicious lunch featuring our truffles and paired with our favorite De Ricci wine!

Thanksgiving in Umbria

We were so happy to get back to our tradition of spending Thanksgiving in Umbria/Tuscany! We rented a fabulous villa south of Orvieto for the long weekend.

Cooking away with Bridget, Melissa, and Sherri

Life Lately: November Edition

Whoa! November is almost over?!?!  Here are a few highlights of this busy month...

We attended 2 Fall Sports Banquets.  This was the only picture I snapped - the football and volleyball siblings: Keith, Kennedy, Emma, and Camden

Camden received his varsity athletics letter

Emma added a bar and Captain pin to her letter.  She was also received the Wildcat Award

Melissa, Bridget, Sherri, and I enjoyed a fun afternoon of Greek cooking at Colleen's house

This month heaven gained an amazing angel: our beloved Grandma Rosie

We were thankful that technology allowed us to watch her funeral Mass.  It was wonderful seeing all the Kasparek family together.

On Veterans' Day, we took Herky for a walk at Carney Park
Guess where these 2 have been spending most of their time outside of school...
We are looking forward to cheering on 2 Kasparek Wildcat basketball players this season!

Gotta love this 6th grade team always having some fun!

Emma and I went olive picking at the Oropollo groves on Saturday
Camden has slept more through this Hawkeye football season than he ever has!
Our calendar between Thanksgiving and Christmas is packed, so we set up our Christmas tree on Sunday.  Here's Emma in her annual picture :)
