Fast forward

Emma wanted to feed Camden this afternoon and I immediately thought of this picture that is on our refrigerator taken the day he came home from the hospital. My angels are growing too fast!

A hike on Clear Creek Trail

During Chris's marathon training, he has become a big fan of the trail that goes through our town. A few weeks ago, he had a close encounter with a cow that escaped its farm (are we in Iowa or Washington?!) and Emma has been asking to "go see that cow." We bundled up and went for a little hike after dinner last night. Emma was not pleased to see the cows way up by the barn and thought if she "off roaded" it a bit, she'd have better luck getting their attention. Never mind the creek and barbed wire fence she thought she could cross. ;)

Take your family to work day

Chris has the daunting task of moving a HUGE storage facility his child development programs use for all their "stuff". 20 years worth of "stuff" has been hanging out in The Bunker and now needs to be moved somewhere else. Emma, Camden, and I decided to bring Chris a picnic lunch and help out a bit. I got a workout chucking stuff into the dumpster while Camden and Emma were in heaven playing with all the toys.

Memories of Japan

I attempted to organize some closets the other day and ran across Emma and Camden's Japanese summer festival attire. I wanted to see if Camden's fit him and of course Emma had to try hers on, too. Are they cute or what?!

All smiles for our new camera

Good morning, sunshine!

Nothing a like a little climb up the stairs with some milk running down your chin!

Teased by a little taste of summer

Besides cheering on Chris during his amazing 20 mile run yesterday, we wanted to enjoy every minute we could outside soaking up the sunshine and nearly 80 degrees temperatures.

He's Baaaaaaaaack...

After a month and a half of nagging injuries and actually switching my registration from the full marathon to the half, my body decided today to surprise me and pull out the 20 miler. So what does this mean? I am back on track to run the full marathon on the 4th of May in Eugene, Oregon...Now for time, and those that voted...I am looking at 4:30 as being realistic...We'll see...I am just happy that my body decided to cooperate for the first time in awhile...So I ask you all to say a few prayers over the next 3 weeks that my body continues to heal and that I am able to complete the journey that I started back in December....Enjoy the pics....and Thank you to Vanessa, Emma, and Camden, who helped Daddy finish with their great cheerleading.

What a difference a week makes!!

So last week at this time I was warming up with a cup of hot chocolate after spending the day at at zoo in the cold rain. This afternoon I'm ready to fling all the windows open to cool off! We are being spoiled by some gorgeous weather today so Camden, Emma, and I headed off to our favorite waterfront park after lunch to play. Our camera is on the verge of retiring, so I am bummed the pictures aren't the best today.

Sheer joy! Camden loved every minute of Emma pushing him on the swing!

We enjoyed low tide along the inlet's beach. Camden only had to taste test one rock to figure out that they were a little too salty for him. :)
Emma had fun practicing her rock skipping skills.

Point Defiance Zoo

I felt like a true Washingtonian today going to the zoo in the rain. I figure rain coats and stroller rain covers were made for a reason. Our cheerful spirit and determination to have a great time blew the rain away from Tacoma, because after lunch we enjoyed a few little patches of blue sky. Most of all, Emma and Camden had a blast checking out all the animals!

Oh no! A shark is eating us!
Emma has not been a big "touch tank" girl in the past, so she was so proud of herself for being brave enough to touch a starfish today How precious are they?!? Camden was in heaven looking at all the fish in the aquarium. He just watched them swim by and tried his hardest to reach out and grab them! Emma was so excited to ride the carousel with Grace!

April Fools!

Well, not really, but Happy April Fools Day! Spring fever has hit our house BIG time and we took full advantage of the nice weather this afternoon.
Camden's taking it all in...where should I go exploring first? Emma LOVED going down the slide with Camden. She even tried teaching him to climb back up it.
Off on a little bike ride down the pier. Emma was not quite sure what to think of the water down below. At first she thought we were moving, not the water :)
