A Compassionate Sister

Our poor Camden boy has pink eye. :( On the way home from school, I explained to Emma that we didn't want her to touch Camden and she definitely needed to keep her hands away from her eyes. As soon as she got home, she decided to show her love with a little artwork: "Here you go Camden. I can't touch you, but I made a picture for you. You're pink since you have the pink eye."

Adventures in Picture Taking

The Kasparek's annual trip to JCPenny's Portrait Studio is always an adventure and today was no exception. Trying to decide on a time of day when both kids are usually in a pretty good mood (which happened to be right in the middle of the Iowa football game-oops), is always a crap shoot. The photographer was trying to get them both to look and the camera, smile, and catch a magic moment in a split second. Here's a few of the more comical attempts:

"Put your arm around Camden"
Yes, this is the way Emma always puts her arm around her dear brother, but not exactly what the photographer was going for.
"Camden, give Emma a kiss"
Camden goes in for a bite..."Look up!"
They were both looking at the floor and took that direction a bit too literally...
I am happy to say that we did get two priceless shots of our adorable angels. :)

Emma's New Do...

Halloween 2009!

We had a wonderful Halloween yesterday! From the moment Emma woke up, she asked if it was time to go trick or treating. :) We headed to downtown Poulsbo for round #1 of candy.
Here are our cute little trick or treaters: Camden, Claire, Alison, Emma, Hunter, and Logan. Who needs Robin when Batman can have Dora as his sidekick?!?!
This is as far as the kids got when we arrived back at our house...
A little pizza to absorb some of the sugar.
Round #2: trick or treating around our neighborhood.
When the gang came back to the house to unload some candy and take a potty break, Spiderman and Diego were nowhere to be found...they were hiding in the living room digging into their loot!
Chris, Chris, and Louie's take on trick or treating...
Let the sugar high begin!!!
After changing into their jammas, Claire, Emma, and Camden were ready to help me hand out candy...
I think the guys had a very successful evening trick or treating!
Thanks for all the laughs! :)

Emma's Halloween Joke

video

Silverwood's Halloween Carnival

The excitement of Halloween is here! Emma and Camden both ran into the bathroom yesterday morning when I was getting ready for school and shouted, "BOO! Happy Halloween!" Here they are heading out the door to school(Thanks Aunt Jessi for the cute shirts!). It's Dora and Diego ready for the Halloween Carnival at Silverwood!
Diego trying out my witch hat. :)
Diego loved the fishing game...
Dora was a pro at the beanbag toss...
Trunk or Treating (in the rain!)
Visiting Miss Susan at the playhouse for some goodies.
Dora and Diego were professional Chicken Dancers!
Emma waited all night for the cake walk. She held Camden's hand the whole game and finally won a cake. She was a little bummed that the cat cake we had made was already gone.
Kickin' back at the end of the night with the cute little pumpkin cake they won.

Henry Goes to Washington

Last week Henry (Emma's beloved stuffed dog) was lucky enough to be Chris's travel companion to Washington, D.C. We received many pictures of Henry via cell phone and the kids shrieked with excitement every time they heard my phone beep with a new text message.
I will admit that it was tough on Emma, Camden, and I to miss out on such an important trip. After all, we do consider ourselves to be Chris's biggest cheerleaders. We are so proud of Chris competing in the Marine Corps Marathon and send a big thanks to Pops, Tim, and Henry for filling in as his support crew. Check out Chris's Running Blog for the full rundown on his trip.

Chris sent a picture of Henry in front of the White House to my cell phone on Friday. When Emma saw it, she exclaimed, "Henry's at Obama's house!"
