Life Lately: March Edition "Andra Tutto Bene"

A few hours after Camden's final basketball game, we were informed that we had our first confirmed case of COVID-19 at NSA Naples.
The following night, the Italian Prime Minister announced that travel outside the home was restricted to getting to and from work & health related appointments and going to the grocery store.
We went to school Monday knowing we had one day to see our students before beginning virtual teaching.

I did not have to report to school Tuesday morning. We tuned into the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S 6th Fleet Virtual Town Hall Meeting
Joann lives in the neighborhood, so we got together for an afternoon glass of wine
Wednesday was a hectic day at school setting up our digital learning platform, and we started Thursday morning.
Our new normal...

Taking a lunch break and enjoying the sunshine
I'm so thankful for our big gorgeous yard!  I have made a walking route around the perimeter and am getting in some steps every day.
Emma and Camden playing paddle ball
Each morning I make a video for my 6th graders and post it to Schoology (our learning management system).
There is one member of the family who is LOVING this digital learning thing
My 6th grade team rocks! We chat throughout the day and I could not ask for a better team!
Chris ran 2.5 miles around the yard Saturday morning while I walked
 Camden practicing baseball

Quiet Sunday afternoon
I enjoyed a Gin and Tonic while...
 ...playing some Uno with Camden
(I can only imagine how shaggy his hair will be when this lockdown is over!)
 Emma worked on homework

Chris read a book
Ready to start their first full week of digital learning!
Virtual lunch with my ladies
 Pumping some iron after school
What does a programmer do when you can't program in person? Chris sends out daily videos to the NSA community that are a huge hit!
Tuesday I went to school to work out of my classroom.  Sherri and I socially distanced ourselves waiting in line at the commissary.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Emma recorded a video of her AP Human Geography Project
(Herky is on his usual patrol)
We just got word that the DoDEA Spring Sports season has been cancelled.  We were all holding out hope that at least the European Championship Tournament would be held.
Our hearts go out to all the athletes, especially the seniors!
Emma spent some time doing what she loves this afternoon

Camden's Basketball Season Wrap Up

Camden wrapped up his youth sports basketball season on March 7th.  He continues to impress us on the court.  He is a talented point guard who know how to lead an offense.  The Thunder worked so well together as a team throughout the season.  They lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals!

Here are a few pictures of him in action the week before..

After the finals, the parents & coaches played the kids in a game

Basketball Banquet

On Friday we celebrated an incredible basketball season for the Wildcats.
The boys were presented with championship trophies
and the girls were presented with championship plaques
The amazing freshmen... AKA Emma and Gabs
The week before the girls headed to Euros, they had Spirit Week at practice, dressing up with a different theme each day. :)
