Ahhhhhhhh
That's the sound of me relaxing at home on a Saturday. I did not leave my house all day and it felt WONDERFUL! I got to do 4 of my favorite things in the whole wide world:
Spend time with my family
Cook and bake

Last night I discovered this note on Emma's door and it can remain there for the next 15 years. :)
No boys allowed in my room only my brother and my dad and my dog. Bye!
We have many fruit trees in our yard and a few "mystery" trees. Two very tall trees in the backyard have these spiky green balls that have started turning brown and falling to the ground. My very resourceful husband Googled, "spiky green tree balls" and discover that there are chestnuts inside.
He told the kids to go collect 100 chestnuts this morning. :)

The spikes were poking them, so Emma had the idea to put on mittens for protection. :)
Herky helped, too.
The collection after round #1.
I was very excited to see that the Commissary finally got their shipment of canned pumpkin. I loaded up my cart and started planning my weekend of baking. :) Emma and Camden helped make pumpkin bread.

The "fruits of our labor"
Pumpkin Cheddar muffins and pumpkin bread-YUM!
This afternoon, Camden headed back outside to get more chestnuts. Chris showed him how to step on the spiky balls and then get the nuts out. This worked much better!
