Soccer Opening Day 2013

It's soccer season!  Emma and Camden are on the same team this year.  After coaching the high school girls last spring, Chris was itching to get back on the field.  He claimed the black and gold uniforms right away to go with our team name: The Hawkeyes :)
My friend, Sherri, let me borrow her camera and I had a blast snapping over 200 pictures of the first game.

It's a beautiful morning at Carney Park
 Mr. Price chasing after Emma
The Hawkeyes are announced at opening ceremonies
Chris let the kids pick out any jersey number they wanted. In true Kasparek fashion, Emma and Camden had to be original...

 Let the game begin!
You need to click on some of the pictures to enlarge them - Camden's facial expressions are priceless!

A little sidelines talk from coach

Camden took over as goalie in the 2nd half

Take a look where he stopped this ball - ouch!
A pat on the shoulder for the goalie

This boy can drop kick a ball!
 NO FEAR!

After a few balls got by him, Camden needed a little pep talk from coach/dad

Color It Up Run, Cheer Camp, and Cardinal Tagle

Do you ever have one of those Saturdays where you ask yourself, "Could I fit anything more into this day?" Well, that was yesterday for the Kasparek family.

CYP hosted their first ever Color It Up Run at Carney Park.  There were over 300 runners, including Mr. Camden Lee Kasparek.
 Here comes some color!
Even a little for the teeth...
Chris had to skedaddle to Support Site (we owe a HUGE thank you to Nate Price for running with Camden during the Color It Up Race!) for his first AFN broadcast of the 2013 Wildcat Football Season.
Camden made it to the football game at halftime. He had an absolute blast and still has blue skin today!
Emma spent her morning with the Wildcat Cheerleaders and performed during halftime.  She cheered so we could hear her in the top row of the stands
 Ready for the dance performance
Toe touch!
And look who is is up in this stunt...
Final cheer as the 3rd quarter begins
After the football game, we headed to a special Mass at church.  Cardinal Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila was visiting. He is the first Cardinal to ever celebrate Mass at NSA Naples, so it was an honor to be there.  Emma even received communion from him.

If he becomes the Pope one day, this picture is going on the fireplace mantel!

Poolside Party

The weather is still beautiful in Southern Italy and we need to enjoy the pool as much as we can.  While the kids were the only ones who hopped in the water, we had a blast with our friends!

I could say we also had a party in honor of the Iowa/Iowa State game. Here are my #1 guys ready to cheer on their #1 team.
 What a look!

 Chris Kasparek and James Kasparek
When James moved the Naples, everyone kept asking him if he was related to Chris. We finally got the Italian Kaspareks together.

9:30 p.m. in Italy means that College Football Saturday is just getting underway back home. The party moves inside...

Donnarumma Girls' Night

Being a teacher is a tough job.
When that bell rings on Friday afternoon, we are ready to have some fun! I joined some of my amazing NES friends for an evening of pampering, wine, food, and LOTS of laughs!

The staff at Donnarumma in Monte de Procida took great care of us.
Madds and I enjoying a relaxing head massage and hair wash
 Time for a haircut!
Snacks and vino while we wait our turn
