Emma in Action

Here's Emma in action out on the ball field...

Camden In Action

While Chris and I were enjoying our weekend in Tuscany, the kids were in great hands with our friends Dan and Mary.  Dan was so kind to take these fantastic pictures of the kids during their baseball games.
Note a re-occuring theme in each of Camden's action shots...

Tuscan Getaway - Montepulciano

Sunday morning we were off to visit some more vineyard..

This was my favorite wine tasting session of the weekend. I learned a lot and we got some great wine!
We "lucked" out and got to try some very expensive (210 Euro a bottle!) dessert wine before we left.
For those of you Twilight fans out there, the scenes from Volterra, Italy are actually filmed here in Montepulciano (again, Hollywood worked its magic for the fountain).

Chris being a great sport and channeling his inner Edward :)

 View from Montepulciano...
 Etruscan caves full of wine!

Wine tasting after exploring the caves.
Jess and Jimmy were celebrating their 1st anniversary this weekend.  We met up with some of their friends who were traveling through Tuscany for dinner.  After a delicious meal, Jess got to do the honor of opening the celebratory champagne-with a sword!

Tuscan Getaway - Cortona

Chris and I enjoyed a WONDERFUL weekend away with our good pals, Jess and Jimmy.  A few months ago we began chatting about taking a trip together.  We decided that Cortona, Italy was our destination.  Chris and I really like the movie Under the Tuscan Sun, which is set in Cortona Since it was on our "must see in Italy list" this seemed like the perfect opportunity to go!

Here are a few pictures on the grounds of our beautiful villa.

Chris and Jimmy with their Red Solo Cups on the way into town on Saturday morning.
Cafe and wine in the piazza

We definitely got our workout climbing up the hills in Cortona!

Chris and his St. Christopher tattoo in front of Saint Christopher's Church.
For any other fans of the movie, this is the piazza with the big fountain (Hollywood worked it's magic to create a fountain...)
After exploring Cortona, it was time to do some wine tasting.  We found this great little vineyard nearby.

We spotted a castle as we were driving and had to check it out.  It was locked,  so Jimmy was trying other methods to get in. :)
Leaving the castle, the trusty GPS sent us down this little unpaved road.  It ended up being a pedestrian hiking path, so we turned around and headed back to the main road.  Oops!
