Fun With The Boisverts!

Our friends, the Boisvert family, came all the way from England to visit over the weekend. Here are Camden, Olive, and Emma enjoying a movie on Friday night.
Saturday morning we cheered on Camden at his soccer game. He scored a goal with a BIG kick all the way from midfield!
Then we went hiking around Carney Park in hopes of making it up to the top of the crater (with no map, a few wrong turns later we headed back to civilization).
Olive and Emma leading the pack.
Josh and Alicia at our picnic lunch.
Next stop: the Greek ruins at Cuma...
 Statues
Zen Emma
Olive, Emma, and Camden chillin' in the whirlpool.
We wanted to take Camden and Emma's picture through this hole, until they noticed the big spider web.
Sunday we went to Caserta Palace. We ran into our friends, Jimmy and Jess, who took a group shot of us.
Emma in disguise as a statue.
Hanging out in a big tree we found along the trail.
Sunday evening we went down the street to our local hot spot, La Chamade, for dinner.  Chris ate here early in the summer, but this was our first time. It quickly became obvious that we need to learn some more Italian.  The guys wanted a pizza with meat on it. They thought they ordered pizza with beef and pork. We ended up with 4 huge plates with a steak, sausage, and 2 pieces of pork.  A "to go box" was the next thing we asked for. :)
Chris and I took Monday off of work and we made our first trip to Pompeii!
These cute statues are EVERYWHERE! :)

Walking the ancient streets.
Running around the amphitheater.

After visiting Pompeii, we had to go see the infamous Mount Vesuvius.  Our little hikers did amazing!
The Kaspareks on top of Vesuvius!
 The wet hike back down...

We had such a great time with our visitors and are looking forward to planning a trip to England in June! :)

Running Club Tuscan Adventure

This weekend was our first Italian family getaway.  80 members of Le Piume Nere went to Tuscany for the Ecomaratona Del Chianti. We started out in the little village of Castelnuova Berardenga on Saturday afternoon.  As you can see from a particular member of our family, he was not too happy at this moment.  We told him being sad in Tuscany was not allowed!
Enjoying some Chianti and panini = happiness!
Our wonderful travel buddies, the Urbanski family.
Only at a running club luncheon is this okay. :)
Wandering around the streets of Castelnuova Berardenga
The amazing city of Siena was nearby and we had a few hours to explore the city. We will definitely be coming back again-there was so much to see!

Emma in front of the breathtaking Duomo Santa Maria della Scala
Just around the corner was the Piazza Del Campo...

It was a beautiful fall morning for a race in Tuscany!
Chris had his camera with him and took a few snapshots.  He said it was the most beautiful and most difficult run he's ever done!

 Finishing the 18K!

Family Picture Time

This afternoon we were lucky to have a photographer come to our house and take some family pictures of us.  Here is just a peek of the over 400 she took.  In a week or so there should be some edited pictures of us on her website:
