Spring Break 2020

There was no gallivanting around Italy for Spring Break 2020.  My mom was supposed to come visit and we had planned a trip to Puglia (the heel of Italy).
This will surely be a Spring Break we will never forget as we hit the 1 month mark of quarantine.

After closing out my grade book for the 3rd quarter, it was time to kick off Spring Break with a glass of rose.
They may not look enthused, but Emma & Camden were ready for a break from digital learning!
After dinner, we participated USO Naples' Family Trivia Night

 Saturday afternoon relaxing and reading
Emma was dreaming she was on a warm sunny beach for Spring Break

Enjoying my morning walk on Mindful Monday

We celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary in quarantine style
Lots of love in this photo!

On Tuesday evening, Emma was Chris' lovely assistant for Name That Tune

Sherri created an awesome virtual scavenger hunt for Theater Tuesday
The lighting is not the best, but here is a screen shot of the K family doing our best STOMP routine with our empty garbage cans.

Wine on Wiggin' Out Wednesday
Camden has been practicing pitching quite a bit in the backyard

Emma made peanut butter protein balls

Our pool has never been open this early!  I took advantage of our sunny 70 degrees afternoons reading poolside.

Emma testing the water temperature
 Just chillin'

Chris got in contact with one of our favorite wineries and together with 15 other friends, we placed an order.  Here is the aftermath of the delivery Thursday afternoon!

We are ready for Throwback Thursday virtual game night

We participated in Stations of the Cross on Good Friday
The kids have decided the storage shed is now their clubhouse/workout room

I got "Flapper Girl Fancy" for our Fun Friday social hour

Saturday Chris and the Easter Bunny video called over 40 families and it was a HUGE success!

Life Lately: March Edition Part 2 "Andra Tutto Bene"

We are on week 4 of quarantine here in in bella Italia. Here's a peek at what we've been up to since my last post on the 18th.

Camden is testing out the "climb-ability" of the trees in our yard

We have a Sunday afternoon Monopoly game every week

Herky studying Culinary Arts
That gorgeous spring weather we had the first week went away!  Emma joined me for virtual school one afternoon.

Virtual band

Herky HATES it when Camden plays his tuba.
He hides or sits on my lap whenever he catches sight of it!
This is a typical scene throughout the day at Casa K

This made me laugh!!!

Testing out another tree

Saturday night we had a virtual Gambler Garb Gala. In honor of Kenny Rogers, we all dressed up in our best Western gear
Our dear friend, Jen, is fighting COVID-19 in Germany. She joined the virtual party for a quick hello. We all took a picture in the "Jen pose" and posted it on the party page for her.  :)
Herky was not amused with his cowboy hat
We had the BEST time on the Houseparty App.
We played games, sang, danced, and laughed a lot!

FaceTime with Tim, Lori, Cole, & Bailey
Sunday morning walk around the yard
Sunday afternoon I took out my big camera and snapped some pictures of the kids in action.

On Monday afternoon, Camden played backyard baseball

This morning's digital learning scene

I have a morning and afternoon Social Studies Google Meet twice a week. Today I went over the Greatness of the Byzantine Empire with my students.

Chris has been doing some amazing virtual programming!
From the Favorite Places in Europe Bracket to the Quarantined Couple Showdown, the NSA Naples community is being entertained every day!

Every Wednesday & Friday evening Chris gets on "the big voice" PA system that goes out to the entire base for Naples G.D.T.  (Get Down Tonight).
I highly recommend  "liking" the The U.S. Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy Facebook page so you can watch this live (6 pm CET)
