Farewell JPCDC!

It was a bittersweet day for us.  After two wonderful years at the Jackson Park Child Development Center,  Camden and Emma said good-bye to their friend and teachers this afternoon. Emma will start the Litehouse Before and After School Program tomorrow (her first day of kindergarten is Thursday) and Camden is going to pre-school at the Bangor Child Development Center. In an attempt to simplify life, we don't have to go in 2 different directions each morning and afternoon to get the kids.  The Litehouse and Bangor CDC are next door to each other on base.
We are so grateful for the teachers Emma and Camden had at JP and we will miss them dearly!

We ran into the Warthen ladies and had to get a picture with Claire!

On another AWESOME note:
Emma just showed off that she's learned how to tie her shoes!  Thank you Miss Donna!

Savoring Summer's End

It's the final weekend of summer vacation-there is hint of fall in the air today.   We had a wonderful time playing at Lions Park in Poulsbo! Camden loved being the captain of the pirate ship and Emma is determined to master the monkey bars.

Point Defiance Zoo

It was a picture perfect day to spend at the zoo! Best of all, Claire, Logan, Hunter, and Heather joined us!
This walrus was amazing to watch!
Emma and Logan checking out a leopard skull
These baby tigers were the biggest attraction at the zoo. They share Camden's birthday!
Every trip to the Point Defiance Zoo must include a picture in the shark's mouth.
Waiting for the animal show
Watching the hawk fly to its perch off stage.
Claire and Emma are ready to take off on an adventure across the desert!
Playing in the spider web
Ice cream treats to end our fantastic day!
Hunter and Camden's 3 year-old conversations are so fun to listen to! :)
FRIENDS FOREVER!

Prince Naveen and Princess Tiana

The stars of The Princess And The Frog are at our house this afternoon.  Camden found this scarf for his cape and Chris's running SIP belt for his royal sash.  They have turned each other into frogs and hopped all over the living room. Here they are back in their human form enjoying a hug. :)

Girl Power!

In honor of beginning Kindergarten next week, I thought it was time for Emma and Claire to have their first matching shirts.  Shopping with these two was a hoot!  From princesses to soccer girls-they are quite a pair.

America's Kids Run

Emma and Camden participated in the world's largest children's running event today.  The 25th America's Kids Run.  They ran a half mile around Jackson Park and didn't stop once! In fact, after the race when the adult 5K began, Camden started running with them!  :)

Listening to the Race Director (their #1 Dad), give directions at the start.

They ran around the shelter in the background and are now heading back to the finish line.

Emma just noticed Chris up ahead cheering them on.  Look at that stride in midair!

"Wow, Mom! I'm a little sweaty after that run!"

Nothing like a BBQ lunch after a race!

Croak-In

Last night was Silverwood's Second Annual Croak-In.  My 2 favorite frogs came along with me to join in on all the fun.
First stop: Frog puppets in my classroom...

Next up was some dancing! Here are Camden and Emma doing the Chicken Dance with the fabulous Miss Carol!

What a great dance partner!

The night wrapped up with a campfire by the pond.

Before calling it a night, we had to go on a frog hunt at the pond.
